چکیده
Abstract Aim This study evaluates the versatility and performance of a novel adhesive for atraumatic hernia mesh fixation. The TISSIUM is biodegradable biocompatible viscous liquid that can be precisely applied to different tissue mesh.1 Once in place, surgeon utilizes light probe polymerize adhesive, creating flexible elastomeric connection provides strong, durable Materials Methods when used with range marketed against peritoneum (n=7) muscle (n=3) was evaluated using standardized lap-shear bench method porcine tissues. shear strength compared resorbable tacks (n=8) (against as standard care IPOM) self-adhesive meshes (n=4) fibrin glue classically retromuscular approach). Results Lap-shear data revealed equivalent fixing peritoneum. Similar testing protocol demonstrated 6 13 times superior non- penetrating fixation devices such or mesh. Conclusions use Adhesive compatible various materials repair and, model, outperforms existing non-penetrating methods diverse planes demonstrating potential help achieve more effective efficient procedures.

In this study, efficacy of two hernia mesh implants viz. conventional Prolene and a novel Prolene-Vicryl composite mesh was assessed for experimental ventral hernia repair in dogs. Twelve healthy mongrel dogs were selected and randomly divided into three groups, A, Band C (n=4). In all groups, an experimental laparotomy was performed; thereafter, the posterior rectus sheath and peritoneum were ...
متن کاملMesh Fixation with Fibrin Sealant in Totally Extraperitoneal Hernia Repair
INTRODUCTION Repair of inguinal hernia is a common procedure, but there is a lack of consensus as to the optimal repair technique along with the use of mesh and methods of mesh fixation. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of fibrin sealant for mesh fixation in laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal (TEP) inguinal hernia repair. MATERIALS AND METHODS A study was ...
متن کاملMesh Displacement After Bilateral Inguinal Hernia Repair With No Fixation
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES About 20% of patients with inguinal hernia present bilateral hernias in the diagnosis. In these cases, laparoscopic procedure is considered gold standard approach. Mesh fixation is considered important step toward avoiding recurrence. However, because of cost and risk of pain, real need for mesh fixation has been debated. For bilateral inguinal hernias, there are few s...
